We left each monitor powered on for 30 minutes before testing at a resolution of 1280 x 1024 in 16-bit colour with a refresh rate of 85Hz. PF790 VIEWSONIC DRIVERS DRIVERSThe system/preferences/screen resolution tool from the gnome applications still shows 50Hz, but the Nvidia Display Settings now indicates my chosen resolution and refresh rate.We connected each monitor to a TL Systems Windows 2000 PC (Athlon-1000, 128MB of RAM, Matrox G450 16MB dualhead AGP card) and installed any drivers and utilities supplied by the vendor. This gave me an entry of metamodes which I wrote down and modified to my needs and inserted in the nf file manually. Since you are not root it cannot write to the file so you won't cause any harm if it is an inappropriate change. When you get the settings you want you can use the save to x configuration file and preview the changes it wants to make. I did this as user not as root nor as su. I had the same problem with refresh rate on my CRT and I used the Nvidia Display Settings as shown above and set the resolution and then the refresh rate (drop down next to resolution). I have tried including a modline for this in nf but it doesn't seem to have any affect. I have also found that I don't seem to be able to adjust display frequency. When I logout and log back in its back to 640x480! The resolution does not change. I can then change it to 1280x1024 and it says it has edited nf and to logout to restart X. When I open system-administration-display it says my screen resolution is 640x480. Still at 640x480 and can't change screen resolution. PF790 VIEWSONIC DRIVERS HOW TOI'll assume you know how to restore from a terminal if you have to, if not let me know before you do it. I hope this post is readable, it is difficult working at this resolution, I have to do a lot of scrolling.Ĭode: # Xorg configuration created by system-config-displayīackup your current config, then copy and paste this into a new file - nf drop it in place and re-start X with ctrl-alt-backspace. # Comment all HorizSync and VertSync values to use DDC: ![]() # Xorg configuration created by system-config-display # nvidia-xconfig: version 1.0 Thu Nov 9 17:55: # nvidia-xconfig: X configuration file generated by nvidia-xconfig Here is the pertinate info ~]# rpm -q kernel kernel-devel ~]# I am desperate, any help would be very appreciated. I spent all last night searching this forum for answers, including reading the entire 35 page thread regarding Nvidia drivers posted by Firewing1. I have checked everything I know to check in system settings and looked over the nf and everything looks OK to me. I tried changing my display settings and screen resolution but the changes would never apply. ![]() The installation seemed to go without issue, however after finishing and restarting the system my resolution was reset to 640x480. I installed FC6 yesterday and after updating all packages I installed the Nvidia drivers using the Livna repo. ![]()
